I love the idea of a ‘no-permission policy’, Becky! Have always wondered how you do all the things you do. This made me realize that hard work and good time management is just one part of the equation. More important might be your ‘I can just do it’s mindset 💪
It's funny, we often talk about the fact that we can just do things without permission, but recently I've realised I struggle a lot more with finishing things than with starting. I'm notorious for jumping headfirst into new things, but I've realised I tend to lose drive about 90% into a project, whether it's writing an essay, learning a piano piece, or finishing a sewing project.
I've noticed that I tend to feel fear when I can see the finish line. I tend to stop or slow down just to stay on a visible path.
Becky, how do you manage the end stages of your projects? Do you find they bring anxiety?
Posting more often to Notes has been my permission-less experiment lately, and seeing a lot of processional effects from just doing that consistently, sharing thoughts that move me out loud instead of keeping them private.

Excited to see the things you're gonna do 👀💪🏼
When you’re playing, you’ll sometimes forget to ask for permission

Oh that's interesting! I can totally see that. For me the excitement runs out and then I just want to wrap it so I can move onto the next one 🙈

Notes has been such a fun place to hang out! What kind of effects are you seeing from sharing your thoughts more?
Opportunities for connection and conversation when I post about things that I believe in or care about.
That sounds lovely. I'm enjoying the conversations happening around there :)
