Through shooting film, I feel like I’ve finally picked up photography concepts like aperture, ISO, shutter speed so much faster without the instant preview that digital allows for.
These are some of my favorite Hong kong shots from this year so far, taken in sunlit pockets of mostly overcast days.
I’ve been knocked out by a cold for about ten days, so this is a more visual entry. The great thing about living a creative life is that I’m never short of material to share.
Catch you in a hopefully better state next week.
Update log:
📕 I finished Rich AF by Vivian Tu. The book is written in a somewhat TikTok voice, which is not my fave delivery method when it comes to writing. I wonder if her editor asked her to amp it up. Voice aside, there are some practical tips I’d follow.
📖 Started reading No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz (13% completed) about the Internal Family Systems psychology model and Young and Restless: The Girls Who Sparked America's Revolutions by Mattie Kahn (8% completed).
📬 Received a package from
containing three curated zines that reminded her of me.💼 My big meeting was successful. Downside: I lost my voice in that meeting and haven't gotten it back.
🍄 Used my immersion blender I got for Christmas to make mushroom soup for the first time. Those blades spin fast! I substituted cream for silky tofu and it probably tastes even better.
🎬 I watched a bunch of movies in my downtime rest: Past Lives, My Neighbor Totoro, standup specials by Taylor Tomlinson and Jack Whitehall.
