Completely agree with this. Extremely astute, and have grappled with the same issue myself. AND, it is possible to commit to teaching something when you're a few steps ahead and continue to pursue the getting good goal as you are teaching, and in fact, improve craft in ways you wouldn't have otherwise without the teaching. But there is a delicate balance there.
