Cara memperbaharui paspor elektronik di Jakarta Selatan

Keadaan saya: Saya memiliki paspor yang masih berlaku, tetapi paspor itu belum elektronik. Sekarang, banyak bandara di sekitar dunia yang memiliki mesin untuk membaca paspor elektronik. Bandara-bandara ini pun mengurangi petugas di counter imigrasi yang biasa membaca paspor. Kebetulan saya sedang menilik keluarga di Jakarta, jadi saya bisa membuat paspor baru.

Paspor saya: Paspor yang berlaku selama 10 tahun yang kadaluarsa di tahun 2032. Saya membuat paspor ini di Konsulat Jenderal Republic Indonesia (KJRI) Hong Kong. Meski paspor saya belum dekat tanggal kadaluarsa, saya diperbolehkan memperbaharui paspor ini karena ingin ganti ke paspor elektronik.

Mengajukan permohonan paspor:

1. Unduh aplikasi M-Paspor (iOS/Google Play).

2. Buat akun.

3. Isi formulir. Jika memperbaharui paspor, siapakan KTP dan paspor lama. Semua dokumen harus asli karena akan ditunjukkan ke petugas imigrasi di kantor pembuatan paspor. Jika Anda tidak memiliki dokumen-dokumen tersebut, Anda dapat menggunakan foto yang disimpan di galeri ponsel Anda. Jika Anda ingin membuat paspor baru (untuk kasus saya, karena paspor saya berasal dari KJRI luar negeri, saya dianggap membuat paspor baru), Anda butuh KTP dan akte kelahiran. Jika Anda tidak memiliki akte kelahiran asli, Anda membutuhkan ijazah paling terakhir. Kebetulan ijazah kuliah saya ada di Hong Kong, jadi saya menggunakan ijazah SMA.

   1. Saat mengisi formulir, Anda harus terlebih dahulu memilih lokasi pembuatan paspor. Setelah mengisi informasi pribadi, Anda hanya dapat memilih tanggal dan waktu appointment di halaman terakhir. Jika Anda ingin appointment yang lain, misalnya ingin lebih awal, proses pengisian formulir (mengunggah foto dokumen dll) harus diulang dari awal.

4. Setelah sukses mengisi formulir, pembayaran harus dilakukan paling lambat 2 jam setelah mendapatkan jadwal. Pembayaran dapat dilakukan melalui mobile banking, ATM, atau aplikasi marketplace seperti Tokopedia.

5. Datang ke kantor imigrasi yang dipilih sesuai jadwal dengan membawa berkas asli dan fotokopi. Gunakan pakaian yang sesuai. Untuk foto, telinga harus bisa terlihat. Bisa juga senyum tetapi tidak boleh menunjukkan gigi.

6. Biaya pembuatan paspor sebesar Rp. 650.000,- yang dapat diambil setelah 5 hari kerja. Untuk pelayanan same-day, biayanya adalah Rp. 1.650.000,-

Layanan sameday akhir pekan:

1. Saya tidak dapat jadwal pembuatan paspor tetapi petugas imigrasi di kantor imigrasi Jakarta Selatan memberi tahu saya bahwa ada layanan sameday akhir pekan. Hanya ada kuota 50 setiap hari (50 hari Sabtu dan 50 hari Minggu). Di Jakarta Selatan, kantor imigrasi yang menyediakan layanan ini berada di Pondok Indah Mal 3.

   1. Untuk informasi terbaru mengenai layanan akhir pekan (kadang-kadang mereka akan batalkan layanan akhir pekan untuk hari libur nasional atau saat mesin sedang tidak berfungsi), dapat cek di akun Instagram kantor imigrasi Jakarta Selatan.

2. Mal akan buka pukul 8 pagi dan Anda akan disarankan untuk mendaftarkan nama dengan petugas security PIM. Daftar itu tidak berlaku. Anda dapat menunggu di waiting area di luar Immigration Lounge dan menunggu kedatangan petugas imigrasi. Daftar dengan mereka dan berikan nomor WhatsApp yang berlaku. Kantor imigrasi buka pukul 10 pagi dan mereka akan mulai memberikan nomor antrian sampai nomor 50. Jika Anda lupa membawa fotokopi berkas, ada fasilitas fotokopi di Immigration Lounge.

Saya diminta nomor ponsel lagi tetapi mereka ingin nomor ponsel Indonesia (nomor WhatsApp saya nomor Hong Kong). Saya menggunakan nomor ayah saya yang menemani saya pagi itu.

5. Biaya pembuatan paspor akhir pekan adalah Rp. 1.650.000,- karena pelayanan akhir pekan hanya pelayanan same-day. Pembayaran dapat dilakukan melalui mobile banking, ATM, atau aplikasi marketplace seperti Tokopedia.

6. Paspor membutuhkan beberapa jam untuk dicetak, tetapi pasti selesai sebelum pukul 2 siang karena mereka tutup jam 2. Ayah saya mendapatkan WhatsApp pukul 1.09 siang. Saya pulang dengan paspor elektronik baru serta paspor lama yang dipotong halaman pertamanya.

English version

My situation: I have an existing passport but isn’t electronic. Since many airports around the world are implementing electronic passport reading machines while cutting down on immigration officers scanning passports manually, I figured I’d switch over my passport now that I have the chance.

My existing passport: A 10-year passport that expires in 2032, made in the Indonesian consulate in Hong Kong. My passport is far from expiry but qualifies for renewal because it isn’t electronic.

Making an appointment:

1. Download the M-Paspor app (iOS/Google Play).

2. Create an account.

3. Fill in the form. If you are renewing your passport, prepare your KTP and old passport. If you don’t have the documents with you, you can upload photos from the gallery. If you’re making a new one (having a passport made overseas and then remaking in Indonesia counts as you’re making a new one), you’ll need your KTP and birth certificate. If you don’t have your birth certificate with you (scans don’t count), you’d need your latest education degree (scans don’t count). I didn’t have my university degree with me, so I used my high school’s.

   1. Note: The form begins by asking where you want to make your passport. You then fill in your personal information. It’s only at the end that they let you pick a time and date. If you’d like an earlier appointment, you have to repeat the process by selecting a different location, filling in the form again, and hoping that the other place has earlier slots.

4. Once successful, settle the payment within two hours (I made the mistake of thinking the billing code lasts a few days). Payments can be settled through mobile banking, ATM, or marketplace apps like Tokopedia.

5. Come to the appointment centre bringing your KTP and original passport while donning a formal top. For girls, you need to show both ears. You can smile but no teeth.

6. The fee is IDR 650k for 5-day passport turnaround and IDR 1,650k for same-day service.

Doing the weekend appointments:

1. I was pressed for time so the officers told me that there is a one-day weekend service. There are only 50 slots daily. In South Jakarta, the passport center that does it is in PIM 3.

   1. For the latest information about the weekend service (they could cancel it for public holidays or when the machines are not working), you can check the official Instagram account for the South Jakarta immigration office.

2. At 8AM the mall opens, and you can leave your name with the PIM security guard. Don’t do that. Wait at the seating area across the immigration lounge until the immigration officers show up. Register with them and give them a working WhatsApp number. The center opens at 10AM and that’s when they start going through the 50 slots.

   1. There will be 3 WhatsApp messages:

      1. A confirmation that you’re registered and what your queue number is.

      2. A notification when it’s 10 queue spots before you. If you’re walking around the mall, you can make your way. If they call your number and you’re not there, your spot in the line is gone. Though I saw some staff asking around if there’s anyone who missed their slots so I think there is probably a way to get it anyway.

      3. A notification when the passport is ready to pick up.

3. I didn’t know (I left my name with the PIM security and not immigration security) so we came back at 10AM after a cheeky coffee and I was only assigned #38. We left for breakfast and at 11AM I got the text that it was #28.

4. I was at the counter sorting out my documents with the officer at around 11:15. He took a photo and my fingerprints. He asked again for a phone number but wanted it to be an Indonesian number, so I gave my dad’s that was with me.

5. The fee for the weekend service is IDR 1,650k because it’s a same-day service. Payments can be settled through mobile banking, ATM, or marketplace apps like Tokopedia.

6. The passport takes a few hours to print, but all will be done before 2PM, which is when they close. My dad got a WhatsApp at around 1:09PM. I went home with my new electronic passport.
